Micronclean’s SKIEs: The Values Guiding Our Future

Micronclean's SKIEs stand for Stewardship, Knowledge, Innovation and Excellence. These guiding principles and ethos shape our strategic direction and inform the multitude of day-to-day business decisions that help keep our customers firmly at the centre of everything we do.
Stewardship lies at the heart of the Fry family, going back nearly 100 years to when Cedric Fry acquired the original laundry in 1928. Leadership passed to Donovan Fry in 1968 and then to our current chairman, Simon Fry, in 1993. This continuity fosters a long-term mindset, allowing Micronclean to invest in the business and enable world-class technology, systems, products and services - all underpinned by integrity and financial resilience.
Knowledge prioritises investment in both technology and people, enabling each to strengthen the other in the pursuit of maximising technical know-how to serve our customers' needs.
Innovation drives us to improve and expand our services. Our dedicated R&D team develops raw ideas that support the creation of innovative products and solutions, keeping Micronclean positioned as a technological market leader - not only for our customers but also within our own day-to-day operations.
Excellence is a continual journey, where we incrementally improve product quality, compliance and cost-effectiveness. Our pioneering production facilities, control systems, Protrack software, and environmental and energy monitoring systems all contribute to enabling GMP compliance and ensuring products and services our customers can count on.
Our SKIEs values are championed within the company by the SKIEs Council, formed by volunteers from across Micronclean. The group meets monthly and is responsible for overseeing the Stars in the SKIEs scheme, the annual Family Micronclean Fun Day, and the yearly charity fund - which donates to various local charities. The Stars in the SKIEs scheme enables colleagues to nominate those who excel and inspire. The chosen winner receives a cash prize, a trophy, and recognition within the company. An additional prize is also awarded to the best nomination, as well as to the nominee they selected.
The Council has also run various workshops across the business to help employees understand and engage with the SKIEs values. Their purpose is: "to create an inclusive culture, engage our teams, and embrace the Micronclean values to ensure a better future for all."
